Course Description

This course provides teachers with a comprehensive guide to the knowledge and techniques required to teach the NSW Mathematics Standard 2017 syllabus. It covers every dot point of MS-A1 Formulae and Equations and MS-A2 Linear Relationships.

The course goes into greater detail than the textbooks, so that teachers become more comfortable in their ability to deliver the content. All 115 examples have been recorded, so that you can watch an experienced maths teacher talk through the examples and any important points to note.

New and existing content is explored in detail, including interesting and more efficient techniques that experienced teachers may not have seen before. Important points to be covered with students are noted, and the limits of the syllabus are discussed.

 The course includes:

•115 recorded examples

•A total of 65 quiz questions at the end of each lesson

•A 178 page course handout in two formats – one with blank space for you to complete the examples and a second with completed solutions to the examples.

•A 64 page exercise booklet with 115 optional practice questions matching the examples from the course, with fully worked solutions.

The Year 11 Mathematics Standard 2017 syllabus is covered in four courses with 444 recorded examples, 260 quiz questions, 816 pages of course handouts, and 444 exercise questions. The courses are:

•STD#A Year 11 Algebra (this course) covers MS-A1 Formulae and Equations and MS-A2 Linear Relationships

•STD#B Year 11 Measurement covers MS-M1 Applications of Measurement and MS-M2 Working with Time.

•STD#C Year 11 Financial Mathematics covers MS-F1 Money Matters

•STD#D Year 11 Statistics and Probability covers MS-S1 Data Analysis and MS-S2 Relative Frequency and Probability

The Year 12 Mathematics Standard 2017 will be covered in five courses to be released during 2025.
