Course Description
This course thoroughly examines the 2024 NSW HSC Stage 6 Mathematics Syllabuses for Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2, comparing them with the 2017 syllabuses they replace.
The course explains the changes over ten videos totalling three hours and forty minutes. The content of the videos is also available as a 159-page handout.
In Part 1 we look at a summary of the changes, including timelines, a general summary of the changes common to all courses, Internal assessment details, HSC Examination details and then a brief summary of the changes to each of the four courses.
In Parts 2 to 5 we look in great detail at the changes to Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 respectively. We look at each focus area from the 2024 syllabuses, identifying the matching topic(s) from the 2017 syllabuses, summarising the content that has changed in the focus area, looking at what teachers need to change in their scope and sequence and lessons/resources, and listing the significant dot points that teachers need to look at more closely.
Part 2 also lists all differences in content between Standard 1 and Standard 2 in Year 12.
